11TH Dubai International Horse Fair makes Tracks with Widening Global & Local Reach

The 11th Dubai International Horse Fair, alongside the Dubai International Arabian Horse Championship, is expanding its global and local reach with an impressive line-up of high-profile companies and brands including leading equestrian equipment companies, owners, breeders, stables, clubs, veterinarians, services and care products, professional and leisure riders and horse enthusiasts.

The event takes place from 19 -21 March 2015 at Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) and offers the widest range of international equine products, services, equipment and technology for horse owners, breeders and equine professionals in the Middle East.

Held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance, the Dubai International Horse Fair will this year welcome more than 200 exhibiting companies and brands from more than 20 countries including Bahrain, Czech Republic, France, Germany, India, Iran, Ireland, Italy, Slovenia, United Kingdom and United States. New participating countries include Ireland, Italy, Russia and Slovakia.

Closer to home, new exhibitor Al Habtoor Group will showcase the recently-announced Al Habtoor Polo Resort & Club development worth AED993 million to potential investors and region’s equestrian industry. The luxury development – due for completion in 2017- will incorporate a 136 key hotel, 162 luxury bungalows and villas, a polo club, a state-of-the-art polo academy with four polo fields, and a riding school with 500 stables. Al Habtoor Group will also conduct polo demonstrations to be held in the DIHF Entertainment Arena.

The 12th Dubai International Arabian Horse Championship will present some of the most magnificent Arabian breeds in the world with as estimated USD1 million to USD2 million to discerning horse enthusiasts. The competition, aimed at purebred Arabian horses to judge their beauty, agility and heritage, offers prize money of USD4 million (AED15 million).

The popular Horse Auction returns this year where Arabian purebred horses from local studs will be available for viewing, bidding and buying. Held on Saturday, 21 March, at 12pm, the auction will have 100 pureblood Arabian horse breeds on sale. Prospective buyers and members of the public can feel the thrill of a live auction with prices and stock to suit every budget.

The hugely successful Art Gallery specialising in equestrian works makes a comeback this year. The gallery gathers established global artists under one roof where they will unveil their horse-inspired sculptures and paintings to art connoisseurs across the region.

Dressage, pony show jumping, gymkhana and Spanish horse performances will also feature at the show where horse aficionados and the general public can experience riders’ masterful routines.

alHabtoor polo demonstrationsPolo demonstrations by the Al Habtoor Polo Club will be held on 19 and 20 March. In addition, a polo class will be held to demonstrate the elegance and specialised skills required to play the sport.

Leading international and local companies and brands exhibiting a range of products and services to the burgeoning equine industry in the Middle East include: Ajman Stud, Al Hawajer Stud, Dubai Arabian Stud, Dubai Equine Hospital, Equivance, Jebel Ali Racecourse, Royal Cavalry and Shadwell Stud among others.

Ziad Abdullah Galadari, Chairman, Higher Organising Committee of Dubai International Arabian Horse Championship, said: “Now in its 11th year, the Dubai International Horse Fair has evolved into an all-encompassing annual event that appeals to the regional and global equine industry, horse enthusiasts and the general public. Demonstrating the sheer beauty, agility and magnificence of purebred Arabian horses, the Dubai International Arabian Horse Championship is a prominent and highly-anticipated fixture on the calendar of the regional equine community that is growing from strength to strength.”

The Dubai International Horse Fair 2015 will be held in Halls 5 and 6 at Dubai World Trade Centre. Opening hours are 11am – 8pm on 19 March, 2pm – 8pm on 20 March and 11am – 8pm on 21 March. Admission is free of charge and open to trade visitors and the general public. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
