A win for Sheikh Hamdan at the 2015 Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Cup

H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai aboard Napoli Del Ma won the gruelling 160km three-star race held at the Dubai International Endurance City.

Sheikh Rashid bin Dalmouk Al Maktoum came runner up followed in the third place by Ali Khalfan Al Jahouri.

Sheik Hamdan rode a tactical race moving up from 12th position in the first look and moving up a further 4 positions during the second round.  He finally took the lead during the fourth loop to finish first.

The eventual third place finisher Al Jahouri was in seventh position at the start of the final loop, eight seconds behind the leader.

178 riders, from 28 countries, competed in the race organised by Dubai Equestrian Club and presented by Longines.

Dubai’s Government-owned developer Meydan Group had boosted the prize money for the race to almost $2.6 million and announced a series of European races to promote endurance riding, it said on Thursday.
