A riding helmet donated by Dubai’s Ruler has sold for AED24.05 million ($6.54 million) at a charity auction this week, according to a report in Gulf News.

HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, wore the helmet at the 2015 FEI CEI Endurance Championship Race and donated it to a fundraising auction organised by the Al Jalila Foundation.

It was not revealed who the winning bidder was.

The Al Jalila Foundation is described as a global philanthropic organisation dedicated to transforming lives through medical education and research. Founded by Sheikh Mohammed in April 2013, it was named after his daughter, Sheikha Al Jalila Bint Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
