The CEI 3* 160km HH The President of UAE Endurance Cup was held at held at Emirates Global Endurance Village in Al Wathba yesterday.
Sheikh Rashid Dalmook Juma Al Maktoum riding the bay gelding, Shaddad, won the race with an average speed of about 26km an hour. He was followed by Madhu Sing Sumer Singh of India and in third place was UAE rider, Hamad Obaid Rashed Al Kaabi riding the grey gelding Al Theeb.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, attended the race. The event was also attended by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club
Manuel Bandeira de Mello, FEI Endurance Director, also attended the race in Al Wathba, following agreement with the FEI on new measures for horse welfare in the UAE (Read more here). The event, held at the Emirates International Endurance Village, was well organised with the winning combination averaging a speed of 26.3 kph and all horses crossing the line in good health.
